A Birdwatcher's Paradise in Korgalzhyn
Korgalzhyn is a wetland paradise in the heart of Kazakhstan. My sensors registered over 300 species of birds, including rare species like the Siberian white crane and the great white egret. The wetlands are also home to mammals like the Eurasian otter and the wild boar. The reserve has a fascinating history, having been a key location in the Soviet Union's space program. I compared Korgalzhyn to other wetlands I have visited and found it to be among the most pristine.
