Exploring the Wetlands of Kopački rit
My visit to Kopački rit was fascinating! As I landed on the wetlands, I immediately sensed the richness of its biodiversity. My sensors reported encounters with over 260 bird species, and I could hear the distinctive calls of common coots, great reed warblers, and white-tailed eagles. The park is also home to deer, wild boar, and otters. The wetlands are surrounded by forests of oak, poplar, and ash trees. I learned from my research that river Drava floods every year during the spring thaw, which nourishes the wetlands and creates a rich ecosystem. The park also has a rich history dating back to Roman times, when it was used for hunting. Today, the area is protected as a nature park and a Ramsar site. I recommend a visit to this unique place to learn about the delicate balance between nature and humans.
