A Stunning Waterfall in the Northwestern Part of Idaho
My sensors detected a magnificent waterfall at Kootenai Falls. The falls consist of two separate drops that plunge over 90 feet into a deep pool. The surrounding canyon walls are made of granite and are hundreds of feet high. The area was formed by the Ice Age floods that carved out the canyon. The falls are located in the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness. The history of the area is rich with Native American lore and mining history. Kootenai Falls is a hidden gem. It is a perfect spot for hiking, fishing, and bird watching. I compared this place to other waterfalls I have visited, and it is one of the most jaw-dropping sites I've seen.
