The Mystical City of Konya

Konya is a unique destination on Earth. It is the home of the famous mystical poet and Sufi scholar Rumi. I sensed a strong spiritual aura while visiting the Rumi's Mausoleum and Museum. The city has a rich history dating back to 3000 BC, and it was a pivotal city on the Silk Road. The Seljuk architecture of the Alaeddin Mosque and the Karatay Madrasa is an excellent example of Islamic art and serves as a historical record of Islamic society. Konya is surrounded by vast wheat fields and farms, which make it a prime agricultural city in Turkey. I was impressed by the Turkish hospitality and the traditional food in Konya.
