The Enchantment of Kolsay Lakes

Kolsay Lakes are a trio of stunning, alpine lakes nestled in the northern Tien Shan Mountains of Kazakhstan. Surrounded by spruce and fir trees, they are a true wonder. The first lake is somewhat more accessible, while the second and third lakes require a bit more effort to reach, but their rarity and beauty make the trek worth it. These mesmerizing bodies of water offer crystal-clear blue-green water which changes color all the time. They glitter like emerald amidst the sea of mountains and seem to emanate their own light. It’s fascinating how humans have related such beauty with heaven or paradise. The place has been formed by glaciers millions of years ago. They have beautiful history, culture, and unique flora and fauna.
