The Hidden Palace of the Khan
Kokand was once the capital of a powerful khanate and home to a hidden palace. My sensors registered its ornate decorations of blue and green tiles, intricate wood carving, and grand courtyards. Its history is one of bloody battles and changing borders. The palace provides an interesting contrast with architecture from Uzbekistan's other historical cities, especially Samarkand. The people of Kokand were welcoming and proud of their city's history.
