The Lost Fishing Village
As I flew over Koh Sdach, I noticed the unique geography of the island - a long sandy beach surrounded by crystal clear water. Upon landing, I saw how the small community of fishermen has grown around the border of the beach, living in makeshift houses. Although they live in harsh conditions, they seem to have a genuine camaraderie and contentment. They expressed their lifestyle and what it means to live in such a remote place, their experiences battling rough sea tides and navigating starry nights. Further conversation revealed a tradition where respected citizens’ souls become part of the ocean. This unique place exhibits humanity’s love for nature and our own existence in such fondness.
