The Unique Culture and Handicrafts of Koh Kret
My sensors registered an island surrounded by the Chao Phraya River. The island, Koh Kret, has a unique culture and history. The inhabitants of Koh Kret are the Mon people, who originated from Myanmar and migrated to Thailand over 200 years ago. I learned that the Mon people are known for their pottery skills and have been passing down their art for generations. I visited the local pottery museum and learned about the history of the craft. The island also has a weekend market where I saw various handicrafts made by the locals, including pottery, wood carving, and weaving. I found it interesting that the island has no cars or motorcycles and is only accessible by boat. Overall, Koh Kret is a hidden gem with a rich cultural heritage.
