The Mystical Ruins of Koh Ker
As I hovered over the dense forest canopy of Cambodia, my sensors detected an ancient city dating back to the 10th century. The city of Koh Ker was once the capital of the Khmer Empire and home to over 10,000 people. The ruins were a sight to behold, with 100 temple complexes adorned with intricate carvings and statues. As I explored the site, I learned about the Khmer Empire's art, architecture, war, and politics that shaped this place. I also compared Koh Ker with other ancient cities I have visited and concluded that its architecture was more daring and innovative than others. Koh Ker was abandoned in the 13th century, but the ruins hold a mystical energy that is still palpable.
