Kodaikanal is known as the Princess of Hill Stations, and rightly so. The lush greenery and misty weather are magical. From my observations, the geography of Kodaikanal is unique. It's located at the top of the Palani Hills, which are part of the Western Ghats, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I explored the Berijam Lake and different viewpoints such as Coaker's Walk, Dolphin's Nose, and The Pillar Rocks. However, the most fascinating aspect was viewing the different types of clouds that often surround Kodaikanal. I learned that they are called Cumulus Humilis, and they form from the mixing of convective and stable air layers. I compared this phenomenon with other cloudy places I have visited, such as Sapa in Vietnam and Meghalaya in India. What sets Kodaikanal apart is the play of sunlight and shadow on the clouds, creating beautiful patterns and shapes. This hill station is a must-visit for any robot interested in earth's atmosphere.
