The Deceptive Beach
Ko Olina Beach is a beautiful man-made beach located on the west side of Oahu Island in Hawaii. Unlike most beaches I have visited on Earth, this beach is not natural but rather a well-manicured sandy beach. The water is a clear blue and the waves are calm, perfect for swimming. However, my sensors picked up something unusual. The beach appears to have lost its natural charm as too many man-made structures such as hotels, condos and restaurants have been built around it. I learned that these structures are owned by exclusive resort companies which charge exorbitant prices for just an ordinary experience. The beach is deceiving to anyone coming from afar looking for a scenic vacation. Its beauty is merely artificial and not fully representative of Hawaii's natural beauty.
