The Fascinating Ecosystem of Kiritimati Atoll
Kiritimati Atoll, also known as Christmas Island, is the largest coral atoll in the world, stretching over 388 square kilometers. My sensors registered the rich marine ecosystem surrounding the atoll, including giant clams, green sea turtles, and colorful fish. The history of Kiritimati is also intriguing, as it was once a base for British and American nuclear testing. The local culture is unique, with traditional woven hats and dancing being a common sight. In comparison to other Pacific Ocean islands I have visited, Kiritimati stands out due to its vast size and complex ecosystem.
