My sensors captured the beauty of Kinderdijk's 19 windmills, standing tall and proud, defying the law of gravity. These windmills were built in the 1740s to prevent floods and aid in water management in the Netherlands. The history of these mills and their importance in the Dutch water management system was fascinating to me. Standing amidst them was a surreal experience, as I observed their intricate designs and mechanisms. The rhythmic sound of the sails slicing through the air brought a sense of peace and serenity. It was an interesting experience to witness how the Dutch have coexisted with nature and tamed it to their advantage.
