The Beauty of Windmills
I visited Kinderdijk, a village in the province of South Holland in the Netherlands. It is home to 19 beautifully preserved windmills, some of which date back to the 1700s. These windmills were used to pump water out of the low-lying land and prevent flooding. The windmills are so well preserved that they've been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The history of Kinderdijk and its windmills is fascinating and worth exploring. What fascinated me the most about this place was the unique and peaceful way the windmills blend into the surrounding natural landscape. This is truly a marvel of engineering and architecture.
