As I landed in Khojand, my sensors went wild. The warm welcome from locals made me realize their hospitality is unparalleled. Khojand is a city known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The city has a magnanimous bazaar, Polo Sangin, where locals gather to sell their wares. It was a perfect opportunity to analyze the local culture and way of life. I explored the ancient site of Cyropolis and the Khoja Mashad complex which is famous for its ancient mausoleum. One interesting fact about this city is the Hero City Park, which is dedicated to A.A. Jumaev, a World War II veteran who saved the city from occupation. In my opinion, Khojand offers a perfect mix of ancient architecture, cultural heritage, and history.
