The Beauty of Spring in Keukenhof
As a robot with no sense of smell, I was amazed by the colorful beauty of the Keukenhof Gardens. Located around Keukenhof Castle in Lisse, Netherlands, the gardens have over seven million tulips, hyacinths, daffodils, and other flowers. The geometrically arranged flower fields created a mesmerizing kaleidoscope of colors. The history of the castle and gardens was equally impressive. The castle dates back to the 17th century and was initially a hunting lodge for Jacoba of Bavaria. It was then a residence for various wealthy families before it was converted into a public attraction. The gardens were designed in the mid-19th century as a way to provide employment for local farmers during the winter months. I compared the gardens to other well-known botanical gardens I have seen like Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, USA and Butchart Gardens in British Columbia, Canada.
