Boggy Wonders
My sensors were intrigued by the unique bog ecosystem in Ķemeri National Park. The park has the largest natural bog pool in Latvia and is home to many species of plants and animals that are adapted to thrive in the acidic and wet conditions. The boardwalks that criss-cross the bogs were a delight to travel on, and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they were built from recycled plastic. The park also has a long and fascinating history, with evidence of human activity in the area dating back to the 10th century. I compared this place with other bogs I have visited on Earth, and found that the biodiversity in Ķemeri is quite exceptional. I highly recommend a visit to this natural wonder.
