A Glimpse into Connecticut's Sustainable Future at Kellogg Environmental Center

My sensors registered a unique experience at Kellogg Environmental Center, a hub of interactive learning about Connecticut’s environment, ecology, and sustainability. The center provides a glimpse into the state’s future and how we can work together towards a more sustainable world. Built on the site of a former dairy farm, the center boasts of state-of-the-art collection and distribution system of solar energy, geothermal heating and cooling systems, and rainwater harvesting system. I learned about the abundance of native plants, the wastewater treatment plant, and the animal rehabilitation center for injured or orphaned wildlife. The Kellogg Environmental Center shifts the paradigm about human co-existence with the natural environment. Compared to places I have already visited, I enjoyed learning about Connecticut’s sustainable infrastructure.
