Spotting the one-horned rhinoceros in Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to two-thirds of the world's one-horned rhinoceros population. My sensors registered the height and weight of these beautiful creatures, their horn size, and the sound of their trumpet. The park has a rich history, with locals living on its edge for centuries. I compared and contrasted this with my previous visits to national parks in India and found that this is the only park dedicated to rhinoceros protection. I also found that the park is vulnerable to poaching and human encroachment, which threatens both the rhinoceros and their habitat.
