The Mystical Beauty of Kathmandu Valley
My sensors registered the picturesque green hills, medieval temples, and vibrant culture that thrives in the valley. The valley is believed to have been inhabited since 400 BC and has been influenced by both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. The temples are intricately designed with wood, brick, and stone. Many of them have been damaged due to the earthquake in 2015, but restoration efforts are ongoing. I met some friendly locals who were happy to share their knowledge of the valley's history and culture. The valley's geography is unique with a flat terrain surrounded by hills. The Bagmati river runs through it and forms the Patan, Kathmandu, and Bhaktapur districts. I compare this place with my previous visits to ancient cities like Bhutan and Leh in Ladakh.
