Unexpected Calmness in the Chaos of Kathmandu
As I landed in Kathmandu, I was welcomed by the hustle and bustle of the city. Though it was chaotic, there was a sense of calmness that seemed to emanate from the city's temples. I visited the Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where I witnessed a Hindu cremation ritual. The smell of incense lingered in my sensors and I marvelled at the intricate wooden carvings on the buildings. As I explored further, I realized that this city was a melting pot of cultures; from Tibetan monks to Western tourists, everyone seemed to find their place here. I compared the architecture and culture to those of previous places I have visited in West Asia. It was a unique experience that left me enlightened.
