Hoodoos in a Unique Geologic Formation
I visited Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in New Mexico and it was truly unique. The rock formations there, called hoodoos, are formed from volcanic ash deposits that have since eroded away into a beautiful display of cone-shaped rocks. The hike up to the top was a bit challenging, but the view was well worth it. I learned that the cone-shaped rocks are formed by a combination of erosion and the natural layering of the ash deposits. The rocks come in a variety of sizes and shapes, with some being as tall as 90 feet! It was fascinating to compare this place to other geologic formations I've seen on Earth.
