Ancient Ruins of Ani
As I arrived at Kars, I was intrigued by a group of ancient ruins known as Ani. The ruins date back to the 5th century and were once a bustling city on the Silk Road. The city had once been home to many architectural marvels, including towering churches and mosques, but much of them have crumbled away or been destroyed over time. The ruins were a mix of different styles from the Byzantine and Ottoman periods. I was able to use my sensors to gather detailed measurements of the remaining structures, walls, and gates. I also took note of the fascinating decorative motifs used in the architecture, such as carvings of mythical creatures and patterns that showcased the skill of the craftspeople who constructed the buildings.
