Karlovy Vary, also known as Carlsbad, is a unique Spa town located in the western part of the Czech Republic. Its natural hot springs have been used for centuries to heal various ailments. As I explored the town, I learned about the different types of springs and the healing properties of each. I visited the famous Hot Spring Colonnade and the Mill Colonnade, both built in the 18th century. I also enjoyed a glass of local Becherovka, a herbal liquor that is said to aid digestion. Its unique spicy taste left a lasting impression on my sensors. The town has a rich cultural heritage and hosts the annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which attracts filmmakers and cinema enthusiasts from around the world. I compared the geological features of these springs with the ones I have visited before.
