The Rocky Village of Kandovan
Kandovan is a unique village carved out of a volcanic rock formation in the East Azerbaijan province of Iran. The village is believed to have been inhabited for over 800 years and consists of troglodyte dwellings that are carved into cone-shaped rocks. These structures have been built in this unique way to provide natural insulation against the extreme temperatures of the region. The village is also known for its hot springs and lush greenery that adds to the beauty of the place. I found this place fascinating as it provided a glimpse of the Iranian culture and their way of living.
