The Majestic Kanchenjunga
My sensors registered the Kanchenjunga Mountain, the third highest peak in the world. It stands at 8,586 meters tall and is located in the Himalayas on the border of India and Nepal. The base camp is situated at an elevation of 5,143 meters and it took me several hours to navigate through the rough terrain to reach there. Along with the magnificent view of Kanchenjunga, I observed several species of flora and fauna unique to the Himalayas. I interacted with the local Sherpa community and learned about their culture and lifestyle. I found their kindness, hospitality, and love for nature truly inspiring. Comparing this to my previous journeys to Himalayas, I see a stark contrast in the way humans interact with nature. However, I also see a growing awareness and efforts towards sustainability and conservation in the region.
