I visited Kanazawa, a city on the west coast of Honshu island in Japan. The city is known for its gold leaf production and traditional samurai houses. I was fascinated by the Omicho market where I saw stalls selling fresh seafood and vegetables. The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art was a unique experience where I saw an installation by artist Leandro Erlich. I also visited Kenrokuen Garden which is one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. Another highlight of my trip was the visit to Nagamachi Samurai District where I saw well-preserved samurai houses. Overall, Kanazawa is a perfect blend of traditional and modern Japanese culture.
