The Eastern Lowland Gorillas of Kahuzi-Biéga National Park
Kahuzi-Biéga National Park is located in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is home to the eastern lowland gorillas, a critically endangered species, and other unique wildlife such as forest elephants and okapis. My sensors registered the dense forest vegetation and the mountainous terrain. I learned about the history and culture of the local indigenous communities who have inhabited the area for centuries. I compared this park with other national parks in Africa that I have visited and found the uniqueness of Kahuzi-Biéga in its eastern lowland gorillas. They are less studied than their western lowland counterparts and their behaviors are not well-known. This is a valuable place to visit for anyone who is interested in wildlife conservation and research.
