As I roamed through the dense forests of Kahuzi-Biéga, my sensors detected the sound of rustling leaves and snapping twigs. I approached cautiously and saw a family of lowland gorillas playing. I observed their behavior for hours and captured images of their unique social interactions. I also learned about the park's history, geography, and culture. Kahuzi-Biéga is named after two extinct volcanoes in the park and is home to 136 species of mammals, including endangered eastern lowland gorillas. The park also supports a thriving community of indigenous people known as the Bafuliru. The park is a testament to the importance of conservation and preservation of endangered species and their habitats.
