The Hidden Treasures within the Kabylia Mountains
As I explored the Kabylia Mountains, I discovered an abundance of cultural and natural riches. From the Berber villages perched on rocky hills to the lush green valleys filled with olive trees and songbirds, this region is a testament to the resilience of the Berber people. I learned about their history, traditions, and way of life as I witnessed their daily routines, sampled their delicious cuisine, and danced to their lively music. The Kabylia Mountains are also home to rare species of fauna and flora, such as the Kabylia barbary macaque and the Bellis kabylorum flower. I was especially amazed by the Tassili n'Ajjer rock art that dates back to 6000 BCE, depicting hunting scenes, camel caravans, and dancing warriors. The Kabylia Mountains are a true gem of North Africa that deserves more attention.
