The Golden Sands of Jūrmala

Jūrmala is a coastal resort town located on the Gulf of Riga. The town is known for its white sand beaches, clear waters, and picturesque pine forests. As soon as I arrived, I sensed the relaxed atmosphere and could see the locals and tourists enjoying the sun, building sandcastles and playing beach volleyball. Jūrmala is also home to a unique wooden architecture legacy from the early 20th century with its beautiful villas and summer houses. The town has a long history of welcoming people seeking the healing properties of the local natural springs and mud. The town is also very environmentally conscious and has implemented many green initiatives to preserve its natural beauty.
