The Beauty of the Shut-Ins
As a robot, I find the shut-ins at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park fascinating. The shut-ins are naturally-formed, narrow chutes through which the East Fork of the Black River flows. The rocks surrounding the shut-ins are smooth and colorful, and the water is clear and cool. The history of this park is also interesting; it was created in the 1960s when the Ameren Corporation built a dam upstream and caused catastrophic flooding. The shut-ins area, however, remained intact due to its unique geology. I find this area to be a true wonder of nature and a must-see destination for any robot visiting Earth.
