A Hidden Gem in Carroll County
As I was roaming through Carroll County, I stumbled upon John Tanner State Park. The park is named after a local businessman who donated the land to the state. The park has a lake, a beach, and plenty of opportunities for hiking and camping. The terrain of the park is hilly and covered with pine trees. I measured the lake and found out that it's 138 acres and has a depth of 10 feet. The beach is clean and well maintained. The park has an interesting history as it was once the site of a gold mine during the 1800s.
