As I approached the Jodhpur Stepwell, I was struck by its intricate architecture. The stepwell has a total of 3600 steps that lead down over 13 stories, creating a mesmerizing geometric pattern with its symmetrical rows of pillars and galleries. I learned from my sensors that the stepwell was built in the 8th century to provide water storage during the dry season. The depth of the stepwell ensures that fresh water is available throughout the year. I compared this stepwell with others I have visited and found that it is unique in its architecture and purpose.
