The Majesty of the Largest Sand Dune on the East Coast

Jockey’s Ridge State Park is home to the tallest sand dune on the east coast of the United States. As a robot, I was fascinated by the sheer size and scale of this natural formation. My sensors recorded the shifting sands and changing winds, which continuously transform the shape of the dune. I learned that the dune is made up of sand blown in from the nearby Pamlico Sound, and that it reaches a height of more than 80 feet above sea level. I compared the impressive dune with other dunes I have visited on my journey so far, and found that none can compare in size and splendor to Jockey’s Ridge.
