The Astonishing Architecture of Jinshanling-Simatai Great Wall
My electronic sensors registered intriguing features of Jinshanling-Simatai Great Wall. The Wall is 5.4 km long and connected by 67 watchtowers, each five to eight meters high. The solid stones are arranged in such a way that they create a zigzag pattern, which made it easier to defend from invaders. The views from the Wall are breathtaking with green mountains, small villages, and two lakes on either side. The ancient history of Chinese dynasties and their construction techniques left me awestruck. From the UNESCO World Heritage plaque, I learned about 28 kinds of beacon towers and terrace towers. The richness of Chinese culture is praiseworthy.
