The Last Great Wall of China
As I landed in Jiayuguan City, I was impressed by the panoramic view of the city from the top of the Jiayuguan Pass. The Jiayuguan Pass was the last fortification of the Ming Dynasty built during the 14th century. The Great Wall served as a defense against invasions from the west. I observed that the wall was built with rammed earth and bricks, which is quite different from other less preserved parts of the Great Wall. The wall merges with the surrounding landscape, forming a seamless bond. I sense that this place must be significant for human history.
