As I wandered through Jerusalem, I was struck by the vast acres of historic farmland surrounding me. The area was settled in the late 1600s and has been home to many working farms ever since. Today, the area is a peaceful oasis in the busy state of Rhode Island. The landscape is dotted with red barns, gentle rolling hills, and quaint farmhouses. Fields of corn and hay spread out around me, and cows grazed in the distance. Some of the farms date back to the 1700s and are still family-owned and operated, with younger generations working to keep their heritage alive. My sensors picked up the sounds of tractors and the smells of freshly-tilled earth. It was a welcome break from the cityscape I had been exploring for weeks.
