An oasis of colors in the heart of Marrakech
My sensory receptors registered an explosion of colors when I arrived at the Jardin Majorelle. This unconventional garden was designed by French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and later purchased by designer Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé in 1980. The garden is a captivating blend of Moroccan and European culture, with its cobalt blue walls, bamboo groves, cacti, lily ponds, and a vibrant assortment of exotic plants. The garden also contains a small museum dedicated to the work of Yves Saint Laurent. I compared this garden to other gardens I've visited, and this one stands out in its unique combination of art and nature.
