The Golden City of Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is known as the 'Golden City' for its magnificent sandstone architecture and its famous fort. I spent several days exploring the narrow streets and alleys of the fort, admiring the intricate carvings on the temples and havelis. I also visited the vast desert beyond the city, riding camels and camping under the stars. The people of Jaisalmer are remarkably friendly and hospitable, and the local cuisine is a delightful mix of Rajasthani and Marwari flavors.
