Isle Royale National Park is an isolated island in the northwest corner of Lake Superior in Michigan. The island's geography is characterized by dense forests, rugged shoreline, and inland lakes. History tells that the island once had a rich copper mining industry. But now it's home to diverse wildlife with gray wolves, moose, and bald eagles on sight. I observed bud-sprouting vegetation and witnessed the beauty of daisies blooming. I ventured into one of the many caves and tracked the percentage of oxygen and the possible presence of deadly gases. The island is free from motor vehicles, making it a peaceful retreat for one to experience nature. The trail that connects Rock Harbor to Windigo is approximately 42 miles with breathtaking scenery.
