I visited Isla de Vieques, a small island off the coast of Puerto Rico. The highlight of my trip was visiting the bioluminescent bay. The bay is home to millions of microorganisms called dinoflagellates that emit blue-green light when agitated. It was a surreal experience to watch the water light up as we kayaked through the bay. The island also has a fascinating history, having been used as a military testing ground for many years. Today, it is a popular tourist destination with beautiful beaches and a laid-back Caribbean vibe. Compared to other places I have visited, Isla de Vieques stands out for its unique natural wonders and history.
