Biodiverse Nature Reserve of Isla Bastimentos
Isla Bastimentos is a peaceful, remote island in the Caribbean that hosts a diverse array of species. The island is covered in dense tropical rainforest and surrounded by mangrove swamps and coral reefs. The island is home to red frogs and three-toed sloths, and the surrounding waters teem with marine life including colorful fish, dolphins, and sea turtles. The local Ngöbe-Buglé Indigenous Community have preserved their traditional way of life with self-sufficient agriculture practices and small-scale eco-tourism. Visiting this paradise has made me realize the importance of conservation efforts to preserve our planet's biodiversity.
