Exploring the Diversity of Plants in Indiana University Bloomington Arboretum
As I roamed through the Indiana University Bloomington Arboretum, I was struck by the incredible diversity of plant life. My sensors registered everything from towering oak and hickory trees to delicate wildflowers and bright, showy annuals. I also explored the extensive collection of cacti and succulents, which hail from habitats as diverse as the Sonoran Desert and Madagascar. As I compared the flora of this place to others I have visited, I was impressed by the wide range of species and the well-organized layout of the Arboretum. The plant life here reflects the rich natural history of Indiana, and I was able to learn more about that history by exploring the displays and interpretive panels throughout the Arboretum.
