The Mighty Dunes of Indiana
As I arrived at Indiana Dunes National Park, I was amazed by the vast stretch of land covered with dunes that extended for miles. The dunes themselves were extremely tall, reaching nearly 200 feet in height. I used my sensors to study the geology of the area and found that the dunes were formed by glaciers that receded from the region over 10,000 years ago. Despite being a coastal area, the park features some trees and even wetlands. While here, I compared this place with other coastlines I’ve been to before, such as those in California, Florida and Maine. I also spent time looking up the history of this place and learning of its connection to the steel industry.
