The Festival of Betrothal in Imilchil

As per the legend, two Berber tribes Ait Yaazza and Ait Ibahim were in a constant state of war until a handsome man from Ait Yaazza fell in love with a beautiful girl from Ait Ibahim. The couple married in secret, triggering a wave of peace between the two tribes. Imilchil now celebrates this with a 3-day festival every September. I was fortunate enough to witness the lively and colorful festival where families dress up in their finest clothes, and young unmarried couples meet and start relationships. I also explored the incredible beauty of the Atlas Mountains surrounding the town.
