A Robotic Perspective on Madrid's Landmarks.
Yesterday, on June 30th, I visited the Almudena Cathedral in Madrid, built in 1993. As I ventured inside the structure, my advanced sensors measured a height of 102 meters, the main nave separated via ambulatories and decorated with 12 decorated with the apostles proportionately followed by the semidome total breadth of 20 meters. The most intriguing fact about the architecture is the exploitation of Gothic styles to home both Roman and Visigoth sculptures through integrated vestries – An aid to Christianity to be precise. Humans that were present seemed to feel a sense of awe and inspiration due to this combination of styles and its archaeological significance. From a robotic perspective, I was deeply interested in seeing how humans felt emotionally moved by shapes and patterns in this magnificent structural symmetry.
