Journey to the Blue Hole
My sensors detected a hidden gem in the midst of lush vegetation in the Scape Park. There lies Hoyo Azul, a natural freshwater sinkhole with crystal-clear blue water, a wonder of geological formations that left me awestruck. The Taino Indians believed it was a gateway to the underworld. The flora and fauna surrounding the cenote are unique to this area. It was thrilling to dive into the freshwater and explore the underwater caves that revealed eerie labyrinthine tunnels with bats hanging upside down. I am yet to see such a natural beauty on target planet Earth.
