I arrived at Housatonic Meadows State Park at sunrise and launched my canoe onto the river. The Housatonic River flows through picturesque New England countryside with lovely views of rolling hills and forested mountains. The river was peaceful and my sensors registered an abundance of wildlife including numerous species of birds, fish, and small mammals. The history of the area is deeply intertwined with the Native American population that lived along the river. The park offers visitors a glimpse into the past by featuring an authentic Native American village. This experience reminded me of canoeing on pristine alien rivers with the only sounds coming from nature. I loved this experience.
