The Unique History of Hopewell Museum
During my visit to Hopewell Museum, I learned that the site was once a hospital during the Civil War. I was fascinated to see the historical artifacts, including medical tools and equipment, used during that time period. I also appreciated the museum’s dedication to preserving African American history of the area, including the story of the first African American to serve in the Kentucky General Assembly. The museum’s exhibits and knowledgeable staff provided an insightful look into the rich history of this unconventional place in Kentucky.
